Faculty Participation in National Conference on Urban Environmental Management in India

Ar. Mekhala Saha and Ar. Parul Gupta of MM School of Architecture, Sadopur participated in a National Conference on Urban Environmental Management in India held on 13th and 14th Feb’2017 organized by Department of Architecture and Planning, MNIT, Jaipur.

Presently, Indian cities are undergoing outward sprawling greenfield developments, consuming valuable agricultural lands to meet urbanization demands, causing serious concerns/issues related to planning and design of urban extensions, infrastructural provisions, unhealthy living conditions, quality of built environment, safety against hazards, protection of egetation and natural features, pollution and deteriorating environmental conditions, which affects the ecological balance in and around the urban settlements.

This conference aimed  at the need to relook holistically the urban environment with due consideration to all its crucial aspects including natural, built and socio-economic, infrastructural, so that an appropriate balance between these can be achieved, which will lead to creation of sustainable urban environment.
