Hands on workshop on foundation
The students of 1st year of MM School of Architecture tried their hands on ‘Do It Yourself’ exercise of wall footing on 12th April, as part of their course curriculum. The students participated with a great enthusiasm as it was a great learning experience for them where they practically prepared the mortar in a required ratio, laid the bricks by themselves by using all the appropriate tools such as plumb bob, etc. Theoretical knowledge can lead to a deeper understanding of a concept through studying it thoroughly, whereas the practical knowledge can help to acquire the specific technique that becomes the tool of one’s trade.
The exercise proved to be very beneficial as the students could easily relate the theoretical aspects of building construction with the practical aspects which was beneficial to bridge the gap between theory and practical.
