A one day Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India sponsored National Seminar on “Severity in Rheumatoid Arthritis: New Insights and Treatment Strategies” was organized at MM School of Pharmacy on 26^thFebruary 2019. Chief guest Dr. Sukhjeet Singh, Chief Scientific Officer, Panacea Biotech Ltd., Lalru (Punjab), Guest of HonourMr. Ved Prakash Yadav, Member of Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and Haryana State Pharmacy Council,Panchkula, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. In their inaugural address, they deliberated on the event’s theme along with benefits of conducting the national seminar. Dr. Harish Sharma, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Maharishi Markandeshwar University-Sadopur congratulated and welcomed everyoneto the seminar. Dr. Manish Sharma,Convener welcomed delegates and enlightened students on the event theme. Prof. Raman Gupta (Registrar) Maharishi Markandeshwar University-Sadopur encouraged students to take part in this kind of programme by giving live examples of various problems caused by the diseases in our country. An abstract book was also released in the inaugural ceremony. Lectures by eminent speakers such as Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Jachak, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (NIPER) Mohali and Dr. Rajiv Taliyan, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani Rajasthan were delivered in the seminar. Delegates along with students of various states across the country presented their scientific posters which were evaluated by eminent resource persons.In valedictory function, Mr. TarunBatra Director Technical, Health Biotech Ltd.Baddi (Himachal Pradesh) was the Guest of Honor. He motivated students to participate in seminars and build their skill towards industry. Certificates were also distributed to the winners and participants.At the end, Dr. Rupesh K. Gautam,Organizing Secretary, presented vote of thanks to management, organizing committee members and students.
